A Trusted Partner in Restaurant Engineering
Mr. Mikes Steakhouse Casual is a well-known Canadian brand celebrated for its premium steaks, Mikeburgers®, and relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. When the franchise expanded into Edmonton’s Bonnie Doon Mall, Lexus Engineering Ltd. was once again selected to deliver the mechanical and electrical design expertise required to bring this high-traffic restaurant to life.
This marks the second collaboration between Mr. Mikes and Lexus Engineering, following the successful engineering of the Lacombe, AB location - further reinforcing the client’s confidence in our capability, reliability, and attention to detail.
Comprehensive Engineering for a Complete Restaurant Build-Out
Lexus Engineering provided full mechanical and electrical engineering services, including:
- Kitchen HVAC design optimized for performance, efficiency, and safety
- Dining and back-of-house HVAC distribution to ensure comfort and air quality
- Plumbing and drainage systems designed for durability and high-volume restaurant use
- Power distribution and lighting design, including emergency lighting
- Fire alarm layout and sprinkler design verification, ensuring full life-safety compliance
Every aspect of the project was engineered to meet Alberta Building Code and NECB standards, ensuring a safe, compliant, and energy-efficient facility.
Quality Assurance That Protects the Client’s Investment
Our involvement continued beyond design with thorough mechanical and electrical field reviews. These reviews verified installation quality and system performance, including:
- Fine-tuning of kitchen ventilation to support a busy commercial kitchen
- Review of air-balancing reports for RTU and KEF systems
- Confirmation of domestic hot water temperature compliance
- Verification of lighting levels and proper power distribution
- Fire alarm checks and coordination with the Integrated Systems Testing team to ensure all life-safety systems function seamlessly together
Through proactive coordination and rigorous QA, Lexus Engineering ensured that every system was installed as designed - and ready for the demands of a high-volume dining environment.
